Audio System Documentation Package
It connects the physical build, electrical system, sources, channel routes, presets, measurements, acceptance results, user instructions, limitations, and future service records to one release.
Package Structure
| Folder or record | Contents |
|---|---|
| 00 — Index and release | project identity, release identifier, status, date, owner, change summary, known limitations, package map |
| 01 — Vehicle and equipment | vehicle configuration, equipment list, models, serials, locations, photos, service notes |
| 02 — Wiring and architecture | power, return, fusing, charging, signal flow, channel map, connector and label records |
| 03 — Source and DSP | source states, project files, exports, parameters, presets, user controls, amplifier gains, mute and restore states |
| 04 — Installation | speaker geometry, adapters, baffles, enclosure, trim, water paths, cooling, access, fasteners, clearances |
| 05 — Measurements | raw data, calibration, setup records, processed views, acceptance results, limitations |
| 06 — Acceptance | requirements matrix, failures, corrective actions, retests, approvals, user validation |
| 07 — User and service | operating card, warning behavior, approved limits, service contact, later service-return records |
Technical Evidence Versus User Instructions
The technical package may contain detailed measurements, calibration files, diagrams, and engineering limits. The user guide should remain clear and task-focused. Do not delete the technical evidence to make the handoff simpler, and do not overwhelm the user by making the raw evidence the operating instructions.
Required Drawings
- source-to-DSP-to-amplifier-to-driver signal and channel map
- positive, return, charging, storage, protection, switching, and isolation paths
- speaker, amplifier, DSP, battery, fuse, interface, sensor, and service-access locations
- connector, pin, wire, polarity, label, and branch identifiers
- preset, mute group, remote, startup, shutdown, sleep, and fault relationships
Physical Audit
Before release, compare the documentation with the installed vehicle. Verify that labels, diagrams, equipment, wiring, fuse values, access notes, speaker locations, gains, presets, and service points match the actual system. A correct-looking document that describes an earlier revision is a failed record.
File Identity
Every important artifact should include:
- project and system identity
- release identifier and status
- date and author
- source file and export relationship
- stable identifier such as a repository commit, hash, serial, or measurement record number where practical
Privacy And Sharing
Retain only the personal and vehicle-identifying information required to service the system. Separate technical records from billing, contact, account, location, or device data that does not belong in the engineering package.
